Our Story

Hi everyone — Julie here, owner of Sinful Confections.

After nearly 10 years on this incredible (and sometimes wild) journey of small business ownership, I realized I’ve never really taken the time to properly introduce myself or share our story in a meaningful way. So I wanted to take a moment to connect with our amazing community and thank you for being part of it.

When Sinful Confections first began, I was a stay-at-home mom to three girls. Baking, berry picking, making jams, and cooking everything from scratch were simply part of everyday life in our home. Those moments are incredibly special to me, and while I miss those early days, I’m so proud that my girls have grown up witnessing firsthand what hard work, dedication, and perseverance can build.

They spent countless hours at farmers markets with me, eventually running booths on their own, knowing our products inside and out. More than anything, I hope they’ve learned that even when life starts early and gets busy, dreams are still possible with commitment and heart.

“Even when life starts early and gets busy, dreams are still possible with commitment and heart.”

Fast forward to today — I now get to continue this dream alongside my husband, as we’ve opened our very first storefront. Many of you have met him at markets and events over the years. He handles much of the behind-the-scenes work, social media, and administration, and yes… he’s also our #1 taste tester.

This business has truly become a family effort, and I couldn’t do it without him.

Why We Bake This Way

Sinful Confections was created out of a desire to offer delicious gluten-free and dairy-free baked goods — and eventually savory items — that people with food allergies can enjoy safely and confidently.

When I’m baking, I’m still using recipes from home, working in small batches to keep everything authentic and personal, just as if I were cooking for family. Staying true to that philosophy means being honest and transparent, and I feel it’s important to reconnect with that foundation so I can continue creating the very best for you.

Listening, Improving, Staying Real

From the beginning, our focus has always been gluten-free and dairy-free, because that’s how I eat and how my children ate at the time. As we’ve grown, we’ve listened closely to our customers — reducing soy where possible, eliminating artificial food coloring, and working hard to make many items egg-free.

That has been one of the biggest (and most rewarding) challenges for me as a baker. I will always strive to remove ingredients when it’s reasonable and sustainable, but as a small family-owned business navigating today’s economy, balancing accessibility, cost, and quality is a constant challenge.

Packaging & Sustainability

When it comes to packaging, we do our best to choose eco-conscious options. While it may not be perfect, our packaging is recyclable and a step in the right direction. We would love to do more, and as we grow, we hope to continue improving — but like many small businesses, we also need to remain realistic and sustainable in order to keep our doors open.

A quick note on vegan items

While many of our offerings are vegan, Sinful Confections is not a strictly vegan bakery. We are, however, a dedicated gluten-free and dairy-free bakery, and we clearly label our products so you can choose confidently.

Thank You

What began as a woman-owned business has grown into a proudly family-owned one. Teamwork, transparency, and community are what make everything possible.

As we head into the new year, I just want to say thank you — truly — for your continued support, encouragement, and trust. We wouldn’t be here without you, and we’re so grateful to keep baking for this incredible community.

Happy New Year,
Julie 💛
